Real Situations I Am Often Brought Into

Founder Misalignment Impacting the Business

A founder cohort-led business experiencing strong growth, where differences in direction and decision-making between founders were beginning to create tension across the leadership team and slow progress. Already achieved $50 million in turnover and looking to scale.

I was engaged to work alongside the founders to surface the underlying dynamics, facilitate direct and constructive conversations, and restore clarity around roles, direction and decision-making.

This resulted in clearer leadership alignment, faster decision-making and renewed momentum across the business.

Leadership Team Not Operating at an Executive Level

An organisation with a capable but fragmented leadership team, where individuals were strong in their functions but not aligned as a collective. Some had grown up with the business, some were relatively new, all desired cohesion but weren’t progressing.

I worked with the CEO and leadership team to address behavioural dynamics, clarify expectations of executive leadership, and support a shift toward greater accountability, alignment and cohesion.

This created a more unified leadership team, improved decision-making quality and stronger execution of strategy.

Growth Outpacing Leadership Capability

A business entering a period of rapid growth, where the existing leadership structure and ways of working were no longer fit for the next stage. Trust was eroding, leaders were staying in their lanes and no cohesion across optimising capability.

I partnered with the CEO and Head of People to navigate key decisions around structure, roles and leadership capability, while supporting the leadership team to adapt to increased complexity and pace.

This enabled the organisation to scale with greater clarity, confidence and leadership effectiveness.

Each situation is different, but they share a common thread — the need for clear thinking, honest conversation and aligned leadership.

At times, I work alongside you as a running partner — someone who understands the broader context, challenges your thinking and helps you navigate what sits beneath the surface.

This is not traditional consulting - it is advisory grounded in years of experience ‘walking in your shoes’. Of living, breathing and navigating these complexities for the companies I have grown and lead myself as well as the hundreds of organisations I have advised over the past 15 years.

It is nuanced, practical and informed through balancing desired commercial and cultural outcomes.

I work with leaders in two ways, depending on the situation:

Strategic Advisory

(Retainer)

Ongoing advisory support for founders, CEOs and boards navigating sustained complexity, growth or transition.

This typically includes:

  • acting as a consistent sounding board

  • working through leadership and organisational challenges in real time

  • supporting key decisions and strategic direction

  • navigating founder, CEO, Board and/or executive dynamics

This work is structured as a strategic advisory retainer often for a 3-24 month period.

Targeted Advisory

(Short-Term Engagement)

Focused, short-term engagements designed to address a specific challenge, decision or moment of change.

These may include:

  • leadership team alignment sessions

  • facilitating critical conversations

  • resolving founder or executive tension

  • strategic reset or decision-making support

These engagements are delivered over a defined period, with a clear focus on restoring alignment and enabling forward movement.
